Why Worry About Your Air Chain?
In both large and small markets, reviewing the AM and FM air chains reveals a host of issues. These not only affect audio quality but also robustness of watermarking.

Over time, air chains can deteriorate due to various reasons. Changes in equipment, format alterations, and environmental factors can all contribute. Analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversions further complicate matters. Moreover, components may have been added to the air chain over the years without the engineer’s involvement.

Despite apparent functionality, it's crucial to address potential air chain problems. This presentation will discuss methods for identifying these issues and creating a plan to address them. It will also cover best practices for air chains and provide an introduction to audio processing concepts.

Farewell Tour of WMVP-AM
Join our host Scott Clifton, Chief Engineer, for a farewell tour of the storied WMVP-AM transmitter site. While taking us on a tour of the physical plant, Scott will share an oral history of the site, beginning with construction in the early 1930s and concluding with current efforts to diplex the signal with WCPT in Joliet.
